New Development Review Project Notices

78 McKinley Court (Great Diamond Island)

An Application has been received requesting an amendment to the 1985 Conditional Rezoning Agreement relating to Fort McKinley on Great Diamond Island.

The amendment is requested by Portland's Director of Public Services in order to remove the open space designation from 1.25 acre site near the "laundry building" to allow for the proposed development of a City solid waste transfer and recycling station. A submitted Addendum to the Forest Management Plan confirms that about 500 sq. ft. of the old growth tree stands would be impacted by the proposal. The site would be leased from the Diamond Cove Homeowners Association (DCHA).

In accordance with the Portland Land Use Ordinance, notices of receipt of a conditional/contract rezoning amendment application must be sent to property owners within 500 feet of the map amendment.

You will be notified of future Planning Board meetings by receiving notices from the Planning Division prior to any workshops or public hearings. Plans are available for viewing in the Portland Planning Division, 4th Floor, City Hall.
