Portland Fire Department Awarded Grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation

PORTLAND, Maine -- On Monday, November 4, 2019, the Portland City Council accepted a $20,950 grant award from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The grant was awarded to the Portland Fire Department for the purchase of 50 pairs of Globe Firefighting Boots.   

“This grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is greatly appreciated, it will allow us to provide top quality firefighting footwear to our members” states Fire Chief Keith Gautreau.  “The mission of the Foundation is to provide lifesaving equipment and educational opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations, and we are fortunate to have been selected for this grant award”. 

Portland Firefighters will be fitted for the new boots and are expecting delivery within a couple of weeks.
