Police Department's Community Survey Available Until March 8!

Community Survey

The Portland Police department wants to remind residents and business owners that there is still time to complete the community survey launched on January 30. The survey about crime and overall safety in the city will help the Police Department in its crime reduction efforts, community policing initiatives, and strengthening relationships within the community.

The survey is now available in in five languages. People wishing to complete the survey who do not have access to the internet can obtain paper copies at all of  the Police Department’s community policing centers, the police station at 109 Middle Street, and various City offices including the City Manager’s office, City Clerk, General Assistance, and Public Health offices.

The survey deadline has been extended and will now close on March 8th.

Interim Chief Vern Malloch said “Our mission includes maintaining a safe city by working in partnership with the community. This survey adds another opportunity for feedback and will help guide us in our future work together. It is easy to access and can be completed in just a few minutes.”

The survey is being supported by the University of New England, School of Social Work, and Dr. Thomas McLaughlin. UNE helped formulate the survey questions and has agreed to host and provide analysis of the results.
