WHAT: Neighborhood Meeting - Waterfront Zoning Text Change for Building Height
WHEN: Thursday, November 3, 2016, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: Reiche School, 1st Floor, 166 Brackett Street, Portland, ME
The City of Portland Economic Development Department is requesting a text change to the Waterfront Port Development Zone (WPDZ) to allow taller buildings in support of the working waterfront and port development. In advance of a public hearing with the Portland Planning Board, City staff seeks neighborhood input on three potential options to allow building heights to increase from current restrictions at 45 feet to 70 feet. The request is prompted by opportunities to develop a cold storage facility on the Western Waterfront and to promote other port related developments. Comments or questions regarding the meeting or the text change should contact Bill Needelman, Waterfront Coordinator at (207)874-8722 or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
